It was a productive day for Graham. He had only 7 days of school left and he wanted to make sure they finished the year smoothly, without a hitch. He would catch his breath during the Memorial Day weekend and then start summer school at Rocket Point for the month of June.
Bethlehem called him and offered him the job as school principal. He was happy, but wouldn’t celebrate until he signed the contract. A lot could happen in the space of time in the Dream. There were unexpected twists and turns, gusts of wind, big waves, and still waters. In his dream, he was learning how to better sail, to fly. His son called him and reported that he formally accepted the offer to attend Harvard to study physics. His son was happy and Graham was excited for him. He would share that dream story journey with him. Graham would look forward to attending his son’s graduation. Would he go to graduate school or get a job? Where will he be in 360 pages? Let’s Sea…
Since he mentioned he was proud of his son, he couldn’t leave out his other son who was philosophical, political, curious, and a hard worker. He was on his own path in Seattle, learning about the many aspects of the construction business. Will he continue on in this profession? Would he go back to the University? Will he become a manager? Would a University offer him a scholarship? Where will he be in 360 pages? Let’s Sea…
And then there is his daughter. They called her “Light,” and they didn’t know it when she was born, but she shines with determination. She dropped out of high school in her last year and took a detour. When she decided that it wasn’t a good path, she turned around to look for the next best thing and she got hired as a car saleswoman. She worked in a few dealerships quite successfully since, and then she was hired by Lexus in Massachusetts and now she is one of their top sales persons. Graham wished he knew every one of her shared and personal dreams. She is living in one of her dreams. With her determination, she was able to buy her own house just before she turned 30. What other paths will she light up? Graham couldn’t wait to see her continue to grow. Now that he was just typing out his dreams, he couldn’t wait to tell her what…
Light called Graham as he was in mid-sentence. She told him more about her journey and what she was discovering. She said she wants to be a millionaire and she thinks she can do it in five years. He loves her determination. Where would Light be in 360 pages. Let’s Sea…
Graham had to stop writing. He did so reluctantly. There was website work and things to pack for his move to Albuquerque on page 99. He liked the number 99. He took it as a good sign. It was his story, his creation, and he could take it anyway he wanted to.
He was too tired to concentrate on his website so he did a meditation and then started to pack up all the items that were spread across his living room. It was a task that was part of the dream. He had to move all his belongings from Rocket Point to Albuquerque. The thought came to him for a few days that perhaps he just needs to slow down his expectations and go with the flow of things. He couldn’t rush the growth of corn, or the transformation of a butterfly. Perhaps he wasn’t supposed to rush life either.
He looked forward to the weekend. On page 59 he was planning to go camping. He imagined himself sleeping on the banks of the San Juan River. He would make a fire after dusk, warm the food sent by his Queen, and listen to the river as he fell asleep under billions of Suns that painted the sky.
