It’s very hard for Graham to stay in the dream. Again, he theorizes that young people are natural at it and to them their young life is like a dream because there are so many wonderful new things to explore. At some point, in his experience, he lost that same kind of dreamlike state, but now he was getting glimplses of it. He was feeling the dream more often, the excitement, the fun of working together despite all of our identities. We finally came to see that it is absolutely impossible for two people to ever be alike. Each person, even if they are twin girls or boys, will have unique experiences. The students might all study the same curriculum in a class, but each student is unique in how they weave knew knowledge into their psyche, experiences, and relationships.
Graham was getting excited about his new job of writing full time. That meant he was getting a boost of energy. Before, cleaning the house was time he would rather be doing something else, now, it was a final pack to a new destination called Albuquerque. They have no idea about the joy that is soon to hit their town. “It looks like this is where it will start. He thought it was going to start at Rocket Point, but it didn’t.
He was packing, going through all of the items he amassed over the past 4 years. He knew he could sell a lot of his things for some good gas money, but he wanted to give away. He wanted to start giving back to the world for all he had learned from them in that reality.
He went through each item carefully. His general rule of thumb was that if he didn’t use it in a year, then it would be given away. That was his general rule but it wasn’t set in concrete. He applied it to his life 77% of the time. 23% of his time he would keep things long term. He was the same with eating. He wouldn’t call himself a pure vegetarian. He was a meat eater 10% of the time and a vegetarian
90% of the time. He found that the meat would often take more of his energy, while vegetables improved his energy. After all, he thought, aren’t those big strong beautiful horses 100% vegetarians? This is how he maintained his balance. It wasn’t the same percentage every day but typically close. Every day was a new learning experience of balance with many other things balancing the same time like screen time, relationship time, sugar, salt, play time, work time, learning time, food, packing, indoor/outdoor time, time with pets, gardening time, music time and so much more.
