2024 - A Principal's Diary
Graham worked on his previous writings. He reread the past two pages. Page 188 took 40 minutes to read and edit. Page 189 took 30 minutes. He was a bit slow. Since he was almost 100 years old, he had developed a lot of filters. He wanted to make sure he was respectful and understanding to his friends. He knew that his friends would be understanding. He hypothesized that not all of them would agree, but he knew they would understand.
Graham reviewed the latest build of Dream Story from SolGuruz. On one page there was a picture of someone meditating at Sunrise. The picture was from behind the person who was sitting cross legged with hands resting on knees. The person was up high on a mountain because the view is amazing of rounded mountains in the background with the rays of the sun emanating low at the horizon in the early morning light. Under the caption it says, “The Power of Being Present.” Graham wondered what that meant. To him being present was just one note of a continuity. A continuity is a specific song. For that ___ minute song, what was the creator, the writer artist trying to convey, wonder, hope, excitement, love or something else? There are many songs on just one album. Each song typically has a different continuity. Each 90 pages of one’s dream story, is a continuity, but even in that directional chapter there is continuity. Graham calls this a Driving Dream, perhaps 3 driving dreams. His Driving Dreams are to take care of his family, to live Happily Ever after with his Princess, and to have an app built so others can share their visions. He was reminded of the song “Brother Warrior” by Sharon Burch. “We are crying, for a vision, that all living things can share…” It was songs like that that gave him encouragement. It was the people, in their art, their expressions, that he received encouragement. He heard them and they were like injections of adrenaline. He couldn’t remember when he was last inspired by a public servant.
In each of the 90 pages, there are so many continuities that one has, written or not. The relationship that the Dream has with his or her father, mother, sister, teachers, religious leader, neighbor and so on. Each person in one’s story could be written about, taken a picture of, and quoted, but most folks don’t have enough time to color in each page with all these stories. Don’t forget about your driving dream and all the good people you meet along the way. The choice of path is yours. One driving dream could be revenge. Your driving dream and thus most of your actions may be based on revenge. Revenge isn’t in the good feeling category. Another driving dream could be love and forgiveness and sharing. This is one of relationship building. It is acknowledging the unknown, not being afraid to ask your questions, and listening to the dreams of others, and best of all, sharing in the excitement of other’s dreams and actions and they of course share in yours.
Graham listened to Stick Figure, “Paradise.” “...give me nothing but love and hope…I hope I can find that love inside…” and Graham smiled and danced in his dream studio. If his children saw him, they would say he was crazy. He knew he wasn’t the only dreamer out there. He knew there was at least one other school principal, Hamish. He wondered if his dream of meeting Hamish and skateboarding with him at Hamish’s school would come true.
He listened to “Dream On” by Ben Rector for inspiration and encouragement. Water came out of his eyes when he first heard it, and it happened subsequently. Graham didn’t care, he wanted to see how many of the levels he could get to in the Infinite Spiral Grid. He already had a fantastic history. Now it was almost his time to go and he wanted to share what he had learned. He wanted to give back as much as he possibly could.
Graham had a lot to look forward to. Who would be the first 100 folks to subscribe to Dream Story Live. What would be their dreams? Who would be the first 100 premium subscribers. When would they reach a million dreamers who envision and take actions to clean the seas. He next played, “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman” and more water leaked from his eyes.
SolGuruz sent out another test release. He tried it out and it was getting closer and closer to the final version. It would only be, perhaps a dozen pages before it would be out, or would it get hung up by legal precautions? He felt the anticipation. Once it was out, he couldn’t wait to grow it organically, first with family, then with friends, then with everyone else on the planet. He wondered how long it would take to get 1 million dreamers to share the dream and actions of cleaning the seas. Let’s Sea…

Graham worked on his website. After getting home from his school, he was lucky if he got in 30 minutes to update it. His storytelling was what kept him going. There were too many times when he felt like giving up on his dream, but if he did, he would ask himself, “Then what?” It was the best dream he had ever had. It was something that would raise the consciousness. It was a win-win on so many levels. He simply couldn’t give up. There were no alternative paths that he knew of in his world. He was going down the best path. It is one we created together.
As he reread his writing from the previous days, he could see a shift. What was it that drove him? What was it that he kept coming back to? What was it that got him out of bed in the morning? It was the dream, the reality, he was living in. It was unfathomable to him. He had so many unanswered questions.
